Witherite Law Group in Dallas, Texas has built something most personal injury firms never do: a 4.6-star rating across more than 1,800 Google reviews. In a practice area where clients only show up on the worst day of their lives, that kind of reputation is earned case by case, and clearly they’ve earned it.

None of that is in question here. This breakdown is strictly about the marketing, the systems that are supposed to put that reputation in front of injured people searching for help. And those systems leak. A firm with eighteen hundred reviews should dominate its own backyard on Google Maps. Instead, across most of it, Witherite Law Group never even enters the conversation.

FindingWhat the audit foundWhy it matters
Weak local map-pack visibility (0.0% within a 5.0-mile radius)Live Google Places search grid scan for “personal injury lawyer”: appears in the top-3 map pack at only 0.0% of 25 checked points around the business, average rank 12.9.Most customers only ever see the 3-pack at the top of local search results, falling outside it across most of the checked service area means most nearby searches never surface this business at all.
No service+city pagesNo internal links matching a service-in-city URL pattern.People search “car accident lawyer in Dallas”, not a brand name. With no pages built for those searches, Google has nothing of theirs to rank, and paid clicks land somewhere too generic to convert.
Reviews shown but not marked up for GoogleReview content on the page with no aggregateRating/review schema.Marked-up reviews can show star ratings directly in search results, which lifts click-through on a listing you already rank for, free clicks you’re currently leaving behind.
Missing meta descriptionNo <meta name=description> tag on the homepage.Google writes its own snippet, usually worse at turning searches into clicks.
Multiple H1 tags on the homepage (2)2 <h1> tags found in the page source.Multiple H1s dilute the page’s main topic signal instead of reinforcing one clear keyword focus.
No video content on the homepageNo YouTube/Vimeo/Wistia embed found in the page source.Video builds trust fastest and keeps visitors on the page longer, a homepage with zero video is a missed, low-cost opportunity.

The Map Pack Problem: 0% Visibility Around Your Own Office

We ran a live map scan for “personal injury lawyer” across a five-mile radius around the firm’s office on North Central Expressway. Twenty-five grid points, checked one by one. The firm appears in Google’s top-three map results zero percent of the time, with an average position of 12.9.

0%Map pack visibility rate
12.9Average map rank
1,884Google reviews, 4.6 stars

Think about when somebody searches that phrase. They’ve just been in a wreck. They’re shaken up, phone in hand, and they call one of the three names Google puts at the top. Almost nobody scrolls to number thirteen. Position 12.9 might as well be position 1,290. Every day, injured people within a few miles of this office are finding other firms first, firms with a fraction of this one’s review count.

Reputation wins trust after someone finds you. Local SEO decides whether they find you at all. Witherite has the first part solved. The second part is wide open.

No Pages for the Searches That Actually Sign Cases

The second problem is structural. We looked for dedicated pages built around specific services in specific cities, a page for car accident cases in Dallas, a page for truck accident claims in Dallas. There aren’t any. There are practice-area pages, which is more than many firms have, but not one of them is built for the way people actually search.

Nobody wakes up and types a firm’s name into Google after an accident. They type what just happened to them, plus their city. If there’s no page matching that search, Google has nothing to rank, and that click goes to a competitor who built the page instead. And it’s not just an organic problem: when Google Ads clicks land on a generic page that doesn’t speak to the searcher’s exact situation, conversion rates collapse. In personal injury, where a single click can cost what other industries spend in a week, that’s an expensive place to land traffic.

Speaking of expensive clicks: bots and competing firms clicking your ads typically burn 10 to 20% of a local-service budget before a real client ever sees them. The click-fraud protection software we point clients to is click here.

Earned Stars, Never Shown

This one genuinely stings, because the hard part is already done. The firm displays reviews on the site, but there’s no review markup behind them. No aggregateRating schema. That’s a small piece of code that tells Google these are real reviews, and it’s what lets Google show gold stars right inside the search listing.

A firm sitting on 4.6 stars and 1,884 reviews should have those stars showing every time it ranks. Stars in a search listing measurably lift click-through, on listings the firm already holds. That’s free visibility, earned years ago, sitting unclaimed because of a missing snippet of code. If this were our account, that’s fixed this week.

If I took over this account tomorrow, the schema goes in first. It’s the only item on this list where the work is already done and the only thing missing is a few lines of code telling Google about it. Everything else takes effort. This one takes an afternoon.

On-Page Basics That Should Never Be Missing

The homepage itself compounds the problem. There’s no meta description, the short summary under your link in Google’s results. Leave it empty and Google writes its own version, and Google’s version reads like a robot wrote it, because one did. It’s almost always worse at turning a search into a click. This is a ten-minute fix.

Same page, two H1 tags. The H1 is the main headline signal that tells Google what the page is about. Running two of them splits that signal instead of pointing it at one clear topic. One headline, focused on the keyword that matters most to the firm, is the fix.

And there’s no video anywhere on the homepage. Legal help is a trust decision. Someone is handing you the worst day of their life, and video is the fastest way for them to feel like they already know you before they ever call. Even a simple sixty-second intro from the attorneys would keep visitors on the page longer and warm them up. Low cost, real return.

One thing worth saying in the firm’s favor: the tracking foundation is largely there. We detected Google Ads tags, analytics, and call tracking on the site, and in personal injury, where nearly every real lead picks up the phone rather than filling out a form, call tracking is what separates a signed case from a wrong number in the reporting. If your own firm doesn’t have it, the call tracking software we use with clients is CallRail, click here. The problem here isn’t measurement. It’s that nobody appears to be acting on what the measurement would show.

Why This Stuff Gets Missed

Nothing on this list is exotic. A meta description. One H1. Schema markup. A map-grid scan. Service-plus-city pages. These are week-one items in any competent marketing audit, the kind of things that should be caught in the first month someone looks at this account.

So why are they all missing? The usual answer: whoever is paid to handle marketing is juggling dozens of other accounts, the retainer arrives whether or not anyone runs the scans, and nobody with real accountability ever opens the page source. Junior staff keep the dashboards green. The basics rot quietly underneath.

The good news is that the economics of this have flipped. With AI, the exact checks in this breakdown, schema detection, heading audits, map-grid scans, now run automatically, every week, without a specialist on payroll. Pair that tooling with real training on what the findings mean, and an in-house team outperforms a distracted agency at a fraction of the cost.

That’s the entire idea behind Local Service Mastery: owners and their teams learning to run their own marketing with AI doing the heavy lifting, so no one ever has to wonder whether the agency is paying attention. If you want to see what a real coaching program looks like when the tools do the watching and the owner keeps the wheel, that’s exactly what the program was built for.

What This Means for Any Law Firm or Local Service Business

Witherite Law Group’s situation is not unusual. It’s the norm. Excellent work, a hard-earned reputation, and marketing infrastructure that leaks leads in ways nobody inside the business can see from the outside.

If you run a firm, or any local service business, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, garage doors, restoration, the questions worth asking today are:

If any of those answers is “I don’t know,” that’s the leak. And nearly all of it is fixable without rebuilding anything from scratch.

Good questions

Questions,
answered.

What does 0% map pack visibility actually mean for a law firm?

It means that across every grid point we checked around the office, the firm never once appeared in the top three map results for “personal injury lawyer.” Since the overwhelming majority of searchers pick from those top three, potential clients within miles of the office are finding competing firms first, every single day. A strong review profile doesn’t fix this on its own; local SEO signals do.

What are service+city pages, and why do they matter?

They’re pages built around the searches real people type, like “car accident lawyer in Dallas” or “truck accident attorney near me.” A generic practice-area page gives Google nothing specific to rank for local searches. Dedicated service-plus-city pages match the exact intent of someone who needs help right now, and they convert paid traffic far better because the page speaks to that visitor’s exact situation.

What is review schema, and why does it matter?

Review schema (aggregateRating markup) is structured data that tells Google your rating and review count in a format it can read directly. When it’s present, Google can display gold stars next to your listing in search results, which measurably lifts click-through. This firm has 1,884 reviews that could be earning stars in search right now, but without the markup, Google can’t show them. It’s visibility they already earned, left unclaimed.

Is having two H1 tags really a problem?

Yes, because of what the H1 is for. It’s the single strongest on-page signal telling Google what a page is about. One clear H1 focused on your most important keyword concentrates that signal. Two H1s split it, forcing Google to guess which topic the page is really about. It’s a small edit with an outsized effect on how clearly Google understands the page.

Why does a missing meta description matter if Google writes one anyway?

Because Google’s auto-written version is almost always worse at the one job the description has: turning a search impression into a click. A hand-written meta description speaks to the searcher’s situation and gives them a reason to choose your listing over the nine others on the page. Leaving it blank hands that decision to an algorithm that grabs whatever text it finds first.

Why do agencies miss these basic issues?

Structure, not malice. Most agencies spread junior staff across dozens of accounts, and the monthly retainer arrives whether or not anyone runs a real audit. There’s no built-in incentive to open the page source or scan the map grid. The alternative, owning your marketing in-house with AI tooling and proper training, puts someone who actually cares about the outcome in charge of checking these things every week.

Which plan should I pick?

Start with Starter if you want to get your phone ringing in one city and grow from there — one new campaign gets added each month. Go with Growth if you're ready to cover your full service area right away. Pro adds local SEO, Facebook Ads, and weekly coaching with me directly. If you're still not sure, run the free audit — it'll tell you what to expect in your market.

How fast will my ads go live?

Most clients are live within 48 hours of completing setup. Your LSM AI builds everything, you review and approve, then it goes live. The only exception is if Google requires advanced verification for your category (locksmith, garage door) — that's a direct process between you and Google, and we walk you through it.

What results can I expect?

Depends on your trade, your city, and your ad budget. The free audit gives you a real estimate pulled directly from Google's own Ads data — not a made-up projection. In a medium-to-large market with a $1,000/month ad budget, most clients get 15–40 qualified calls per month. Run the audit first to see what's realistic in your specific area.

Do I really own everything?

Yes. The Google Ads account, the call tracking numbers, the landing page — all built inside your accounts, in your name. If you ever cancel, you walk away with everything you paid to build. That's not a policy. That's the whole point.

Is there a contract?

No contract, ever. Every plan is month-to-month. Cancel anytime — if we stop earning your business, you should stop paying.

What if I already have my own call tracking or fraud protection?

No problem. You can connect your existing accounts, or we set everything up fresh for you. Your call — you pick during onboarding.

I'm a locksmith or garage door company. Anything I should know?

Yes — Google requires advanced verification for locksmith and garage door services before ads can run. We build your campaign and all your keywords, but you'll need to complete that verification with Google directly (we walk you through it). If for any reason you can't complete it, you're covered by our full 7-day refund.

Do you work with my trade?

We specialize in home and local services — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, locksmith, garage door, pest control, carpet cleaning, water damage, tree service, and more. Run the free audit and you'll instantly see if we're a fit.

What exactly is my LSM AI account manager?

It's your personal AI marketing manager — trained on 8,600+ real LSM coaching sessions. Sign up and it's ready to go: builds your full campaign setup inside your accounts, reviews everything with you before anything goes live, and stays on 24/7 to answer any question about your campaigns, leads, or marketing strategy. In Lior's exact voice.

What's the 7-day money-back guarantee?

If you sign up and decide within 7 days that this isn't right for you — for any reason — you get a full refund. No hoops. We'd rather lose a bad fit early than keep a client who isn't seeing value.

The bottom line

A Great Reputation Still Needs to Be Findable

Witherite Law Group has done the hard part. More than eighteen hundred reviews at 4.6 stars is a reputation most firms would kill for, and it was earned case by case. But reputation alone doesn’t put your name in front of someone searching from the shoulder of the freeway. Visibility infrastructure does, and right now that infrastructure is either missing or invisible to Google.

The encouraging part: almost everything on this list is a fix measured in hours, not months. Schema markup. A meta description. One H1. Service-plus-city pages. Map-grid visibility work. None of it requires a new website or a new brand. It requires someone actually looking, and checking again next week.

That’s the gap Local Service Mastery exists to close. We help firm owners and local service businesses run these exact checks themselves, understand what the findings mean, and fix what’s leaking, done for you, owned by you.
