Fang Injury and Accident Attorneys, a Denver personal injury law firm, has a perfect five-star rating across 812 reviews. Let that sink in. That is one of the strongest reputations I have ever audited — in any trade, in any market.

But reputation and marketing are not the same thing. When I pulled their actual marketing setup apart, I found six leaks. A couple of them are expensive. The first one genuinely surprised me, because it’s value the firm has already earned and simply isn’t collecting.

Here’s the full breakdown — and more importantly, what it means for your business. Because if a firm with a reputation this strong is leaking this badly, there’s a good chance your marketing has the same holes.

Leak #1: 812 five-star reviews, zero stars in Google

The firm displays its reviews on the website. Looks great. But there’s no review markup behind them — that’s the small piece of code that lets Google show star ratings right in the search results.

So a firm with 812 five-star reviews appears in search with zero stars visible. Meanwhile, a competitor with a fraction of that reputation can look just as good at the exact moment a potential client decides who to click.

If this were my firm, I’d want those stars showing everywhere they can. That’s free clicks on a listing they already rank for. No ad spend. No new content. No SEO campaign. Just marking up an asset they already own.

Here’s the why: people scan search results, they don’t read them. Stars are the fastest trust signal on the page, and in a market where every firm claims to be the best, the one with visible proof gets the click. Earning 812 five-star reviews is the hard part. The markup is a few lines of code. Leaving it out is leaving money on the table.

Leak #2: Invisible on the map 96% of the time

We ran a live map scan across a five-mile radius around their office, searching “personal injury law firm.” The result: they make the top three map results just 4% of the time, with an average position of 9.1.

Flip that number around. In 96 out of 100 searches, a competitor shows up in the map and they don’t.

When somebody just got rear-ended and they’re searching from the side of the road, phone in hand, they choose from that map.

That’s the why. Personal injury is a map business. Nobody in that moment is doing deep research. Nobody is scrolling to position nine. They tap one of the first three pins and call. If you’re not in that top three at the moment it matters, your 812 reviews might as well not exist — the client never gets far enough to see them.

Leak #3: A mobile site that burns every click

Their mobile site scores 45 out of 100 on Google’s own speed test, and the main content takes 4.9 seconds to appear.

Injury clients search on phones. That’s not a prediction — it’s the entire market. The person searching is in a waiting room, on a bus, or standing next to a crumpled bumper. They will not sit and watch a loading bar while ten other firms are one tap away.

And here’s the part that costs real money: a slow page burns paid clicks the same as free ones. You pay for the click, the page takes nearly five seconds to show anything, the visitor bounces — and you just bought nothing. After reviewing hundreds of local service accounts, I’d want that load time cut down before spending another dollar on ads. Speed comes first because it multiplies everything that comes after it.

Leak #4: No video on the homepage. None.

We checked the source code. No embed anywhere on the homepage. Zero video.

Hiring a lawyer is personal. You’re trusting someone with your health, your finances, maybe your family’s future — and you’re being asked to make that decision off a photo and a paragraph of text. Video is the fastest way to build that trust before someone ever picks up the phone. A short clip of the actual attorney talking does more than any headline ever will. Without it, the firm is a logo competing against other logos.

Leaks #5 and #6: Two “small” technical misses that aren’t small

The H1 is buried in the code

The H1 is the main headline Google reads to understand what the page is about. On this site, it sits underneath lower-level headings in the code, which weakens it as a ranking signal. It’s a structural mistake — the equivalent of writing a book and sticking the title page in chapter three.

One insecure asset on a secure page

One asset on the site loads over an insecure connection on an otherwise secure page. Browsers can flag that with a warning — or just quietly block the file from loading at all. So the visitor either sees a security warning from a law firm asking for their trust, or part of the page silently doesn’t work. Neither is acceptable, and both are basic fixes.

Six basic checks. All missed. That’s the real story.

Step back from the individual fixes and look at the pattern:

Every one of these is a basic check. Not advanced strategy. Not some secret technique. This is audit 101.

If someone’s being paid to run this marketing, they should have caught all six. And when stuff like this gets missed, it’s usually the same reason: agencies collect monthly retainers while junior staff juggle 80 accounts and nobody actually looks. That’s the operating model at the average home service marketing agency — sign the client, template the work, spread the attention so thin that no single account ever gets a real set of eyes on it.

This is exactly why I teach marketing for contractors and service business owners the way I do: owner-led, in-house, with nobody standing between you and your own lead flow.

How you fix this — and never depend on an agency again

Here’s what most owners don’t know yet. With AI, these exact fixes can now run automatically. Review markup checks. Map scans across your service area. Speed monitoring. Heading structure. Security flags. The entire audit you just read, running on repeat — without a junior account manager in sight.

With a bit of guidance, you can bring your marketing in-house, own the whole thing, and never depend on an agency again. That’s the entire mission behind Local Service Mastery — you learn to run your own Google Ads, local SEO and Facebook Ads, and the AI does the heavy lifting in the background.

Fang’s reputation proves the hard part is already done — they clearly deliver for their clients. The leaks above are the easy part, and every one of them is fixable. The only question is whether anyone is actually looking. If you run a local service business and want us to find what’s leaking in your marketing, grab the free audit below.

Good questions

Questions,
answered.

What is review markup, and why does it matter so much?

Review markup is a small piece of code behind the reviews on your website that lets Google show your star rating directly in the search results. Without it, a firm with 812 five-star reviews appears in search with zero stars visible. With it, you earn extra clicks on listings you already rank for — no ad spend, no new content, just proof showing up where people actually look.

What does a map scan actually measure?

A live map scan checks where you rank for a search like “personal injury law firm” at points across a radius around your office — five miles in this audit. Fang made the top three map results at just 4% of those points, averaging position 9.1. Since injury clients choose from the map — often from the side of the road, phone in hand — sitting outside the top three means a competitor gets the call instead.

Does a slow website really waste my ad budget?

Yes. A slow page burns paid clicks the same as free ones. If your main content takes 4.9 seconds to appear, mobile visitors bounce before they ever see your site — and you still paid for the click. That’s why the load time gets fixed before another dollar goes into ads: speed multiplies everything that comes after it.

Do I really need a video on my homepage?

Hiring is personal — especially hiring a lawyer. Video is the fastest way to build trust before someone ever picks up the phone. Fang’s homepage had no embed anywhere in the source code, which means the firm is a logo competing against other logos at the exact moment a potential client is deciding who feels trustworthy.

What is mixed content, and is it actually a big deal?

Mixed content is when one asset loads over an insecure connection on an otherwise secure page. Browsers respond in one of two ways: they flag the page with a security warning, or they quietly block the file from loading at all. For a business that runs entirely on trust, a browser warning on your own homepage is brutal — and catching it is a basic check.

Why didn’t their marketing agency catch all six issues?

Because of the model, not the people. Agencies collect monthly retainers while junior staff juggle 80 accounts, and nobody actually looks at yours. Every one of these six issues is a basic check, and all six were missed. The good news: with AI, these exact checks can now run automatically, and with a bit of guidance you can bring your marketing in-house and own the whole thing.

Which plan should I pick?

Start with Starter if you want to get your phone ringing in one city and grow from there — one new campaign gets added each month. Go with Growth if you're ready to cover your full service area right away. Pro adds local SEO, Facebook Ads, and weekly coaching with me directly. If you're still not sure, run the free audit — it'll tell you what to expect in your market.

How fast will my ads go live?

Most clients are live within 48 hours of completing setup. Your LSM AI builds everything, you review and approve, then it goes live. The only exception is if Google requires advanced verification for your category (locksmith, garage door) — that's a direct process between you and Google, and we walk you through it.

What results can I expect?

Depends on your trade, your city, and your ad budget. The free audit gives you a real estimate pulled directly from Google's own Ads data — not a made-up projection. In a medium-to-large market with a $1,000/month ad budget, most clients get 15–40 qualified calls per month. Run the audit first to see what's realistic in your specific area.

Do I really own everything?

Yes. The Google Ads account, the call tracking numbers, the landing page — all built inside your accounts, in your name. If you ever cancel, you walk away with everything you paid to build. That's not a policy. That's the whole point.

Is there a contract?

No contract, ever. Every plan is month-to-month. Cancel anytime — if we stop earning your business, you should stop paying.

What if I already have my own call tracking or fraud protection?

No problem. You can connect your existing accounts, or we set everything up fresh for you. Your call — you pick during onboarding.

I'm a locksmith or garage door company. Anything I should know?

Yes — Google requires advanced verification for locksmith and garage door services before ads can run. We build your campaign and all your keywords, but you'll need to complete that verification with Google directly (we walk you through it). If for any reason you can't complete it, you're covered by our full 7-day refund.

Do you work with my trade?

We specialize in home and local services — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, locksmith, garage door, pest control, carpet cleaning, water damage, tree service, and more. Run the free audit and you'll instantly see if we're a fit.

What exactly is my LSM AI account manager?

It's your personal AI marketing manager — trained on 8,600+ real LSM coaching sessions. Sign up and it's ready to go: builds your full campaign setup inside your accounts, reviews everything with you before anything goes live, and stays on 24/7 to answer any question about your campaigns, leads, or marketing strategy. In Lior's exact voice.

What's the 7-day money-back guarantee?

If you sign up and decide within 7 days that this isn't right for you — for any reason — you get a full refund. No hoops. We'd rather lose a bad fit early than keep a client who isn't seeing value.

The bottom line

A 5-star reputation can’t fix six basic leaks

Fang Injury and Accident Attorneys did the hardest thing in local marketing: they built a near-perfect reputation, 812 five-star reviews deep. And their marketing setup still hands clients to competitors in 96 out of 100 map searches — because of six basic misses nobody checked for.

That’s the lesson for every service business owner reading this. The agency model doesn’t fail because agencies are bad people. It fails because retainers get collected while junior staff juggle 80 accounts and nobody actually looks at yours. Your marketing needs an owner, not a line item on someone else’s account list.

At Local Service Mastery, we’d start with the free audit — find every leak like the six above. Then we’d show you how to fix them in-house, with AI running these checks automatically and you owning the entire machine. No agency. No retainer. No excuses. If you want to know what’s leaking in your marketing, the audit is the first step.
