Here’s a problem every service business owner knows. A prospect lands on your website with questions. Real questions. Are you a good fit for them? What do you actually do? Why should they trust you after the last marketer burned them? If nobody answers fast, they’re gone, clicking on the next guy.
I got tired of being the guy who answers all of it. So I built an AI SDR agent that handles those first conversations for me. It sits on my website, greets every visitor, qualifies the fit, handles the objections, and walks the right people straight to my free audit form. In the video above, you watch it run a full conversation with a plumbing company owner, no human involved, start to finish.
Let me break down what it’s actually doing, because none of it is random.
Why I Built an AI SDR Agent
Part of building a one-man AI marketing agency is learning how to handle prospect questions. When it’s just you, every question lands on your desk. “How are you different?” “Will this work for my trade?” “What happens after I sign up?” Answer them all yourself and you become the bottleneck of your own business. Ignore them and the prospect bounces.
So the agent opens every conversation the second someone lands on the site: “Hi there, I’m Lior’s AI agent here at Local Service Mastery. Can you tell me a bit about your business and what made you check us out today, so I can see if we’re a good fit for you? Take your time and speak naturally, I can follow everything you say.”
Look at what that one line does. It asks about their business first, not our pitch. It frames the whole chat around fit, which quietly tells the prospect we’re selective. And it invites them to just talk, in their own words. That’s not a chatbot menu with three buttons. That’s a real intake conversation.
How the Demo Conversation Plays Out
Step 1: Qualify before you pitch
The prospect says he runs a plumbing company and wants to understand how we can help with marketing. The agent’s response: “Plumbing’s a great fit for what we do. What’s your situation right now with marketing, and what’s making you look at options like this?”
That’s deliberate. Most marketers hear “I need marketing” and immediately start selling. You can’t sell the right fix until you know the actual problem. The agent confirms the trade fits, then digs into situation and motivation. Two questions, and now it knows why he’s here, which is the only thing that matters for what comes next.
Step 2: Handle the objection everyone has
Then he says the line every one of you has said at some point: “I spend a lot of money on marketers and everyone keeps failing me and not delivering results.”
Watch how the agent handles it. First it validates: that’s a really common frustration, and a lot of owners come to us burnt out on agencies that don’t deliver. Then it draws the line. Instead of an account manager juggling 50 other clients, you get a dedicated AI system that’s actually building and managing your campaigns. Plus you learn how to run marketing yourself, so you’re never dependent on outside people again. Hands-on work done for you and the education to understand what’s happening.
That answer is the entire Local Service Mastery model in two sentences, and the agent delivers it at 2am if that’s when the prospect shows up. I don’t have to be in the room. Compare that to how a traditional home service marketing agency handles the same objection: a salesperson promising this time will be different, on a call you had to book three days out.
Step 3: Get specific about the numbers
The agent keeps qualifying. Is he running any paid ads right now, or has he tried and walked away? He says he’s running some Google Ads and some Facebook ads. Good, live campaigns mean there’s real data to look at.
Next question: what’s the main thing that’s not working, the cost per lead, the number of calls, or something else? His answer: “Both. The cost per lead is very high and I’m not getting enough leads.” If you run a home service business, you’ve said those exact words. High cost per lead, not enough volume. It’s exactly what we usually hear from owners who’ve been with traditional agencies.
Why the Agent Pitches the Free Audit, Not a Sales Call
This is my favorite part. The agent doesn’t push a call with me. It pushes the free marketing audit. Here’s why that matters.
When a plumber says “my cost per lead is too high,” there are only two possibilities. Either his campaigns are badly set up and badly managed, or his expectations don’t match his market. The audit answers which one it is. It estimates what realistic monthly calls, cost per click and search volume should actually look like for plumbing in his specific location. Then he can see the gap, or the lack of one, between what he’s getting now and what’s actually possible.
The agent even asks if he’s ever done an audit like that before. He hasn’t. Perfect, that’s exactly where to start. Now he’ll know what the numbers should look like for his market, and whether the issue is his current setup or unrealistic expectations. After that, if it’s a fit, we build and manage the campaigns. Not the one-and-done setup he probably got before, where an agency builds it once and never touches it again.
The Close: Make the Next Step Stupid Simple
Notice how it ends. The agent doesn’t say “we’ll be in touch.” It gives one clear instruction: pick the free audit in the form below, leave your info, and either it gets sent right over or Lior himself follows up.
And when the prospect drifts back with “where’s the form?”, the agent doesn’t miss a beat. “It’s right below this chat. Just fill in your info under the free audit option and that’ll get everything started for you.” Click the quick fit check, fill out your information, done. Every possible point of confusion gets handled in the moment, while the prospect is still warm. No “let me email you a link.” No lead sitting in a CRM going cold.
Everything I Build for Myself, I Build for My Clients
Everything that I built for myself, I also build for my clients.
That last line of the video is the whole point. This SDR agent isn’t a toy I made for my own site. It’s the same LSM AI system we put in front of service businesses, the same qualification, the same objection handling, the same push to a clear next step, running on your website while you’re out on a job.
Because here’s the truth. You’re not losing leads because your service is bad. You’re losing them in the gap between “prospect has a question” and “someone answers it.” Close that gap and everything downstream, your audits, your calls, your close rate, gets easier.
